Managing One’s Friends
I failed to recognize this earlier, but now my life has changed for the better by knowing this. I had many friends; some were good, and some were bad. I always wanted friends I could be around until the day I die. However, through observation, I noticed that I made many mistakes in choosing, and it’s all my fault. When I stopped and reflected, I found out that I was too tolerant by being friends with the wrong people.
Let me explain. When I was around certain friends, they tended to say bizarre things that I thought would never shape my thoughts, but eventually, it did. I always tended to take the wrong actions when I was with them. No more — I decided to drop them.
Now, being without friends is better than being with the wrong ones. But even better is being with good friends — friends who help each other grow, not compete with each other. The minute I changed my circle, my life became easier. I was attached to people who were cruising through life with no purpose. If you are the smartest person in your group, you need a new group.
Life is short. Choose your group wisely, be generous to them, give and take, and prosper together.
